Services

Do you need a professional writer to supply copy or polish your work?

Would you like to be privately tutored by a published writer?

Are you looking for an author to deliver a talk or workshop?

I offer a range of bespoke services, tailored to meet your needs.

A Professional Writing and Editing Service

I can supply professionally written copy for a range of purposes and audiences.  This includes: articles, reviews, website copy, press-releases, promotional literature, leaflets, instructions and letter writing.  I am happy to work for organisations and individuals.

I also offer a full proofreading and copy-editing service for all types of writing.  I will assess your work for spelling, punctuation, grammar and layout and mark up all changes.

My work will be technically accurate, within stipulated word counts and delivered to deadline by email or post, as required.

Contact me to discuss your needs and obtain a free no-obligation quote.

Copy-editing will focus on improving the formatting, style, accuracy and clarity of your writing.  If you are an aspiring author, you may wish to consider my reading and appraisal service, for more in-depth help including structural editing.

A Reading and Appraisal Service

"Thanks Shanta for all your insightful comments, advice and explanation."

Creative writing student

Agents and publishers are inundated with manuscripts and don't have the time to offer feedback when they reject a piece of work, even if the work is almost to a publishable standard.

As a published author and experienced creative writing tutor with The Open University, I am armed with the practical editorial skills to help unpublished authors hone their work to its maximum potential, thereby enhancing the chances of publication.

Appraisals will focus on maximising strengths and identifying areas to work on including genre, structure, setting, plot, pacing, characterisation, point of view, use of dialogue, language and stylistic options.  Adult/teen fiction and life writing. Personal tuition and in-depth editing services are also available.
